  1. So I've now up loaded two videos to You tube. The first one painting a Buddleia flower and the second painting a red squirrel. I wasn't really happy with the squirrel, but I was determined to get a video up each week and didn't have time to do another. What this did make me decide was that I wasn't going to put another video up of something I really didn't like (at least not unless I was intending to show that we all produce things we don't like.). I'll probably take the squirrel down once I've got a wider selection up and replace it with a squirrel I do like. So the next video is painting a fox, it's quite a long video so I've split it up into two parts. I know established You tubers often post this sort of thing over two weeks but as I'm new and haven't got a lot on  my channel yet, I'll put them both up together. Should be out on Friday this week.

I've learned an awful lot in a short time doing this. I've learned to film my process, edit with a video editor program, do a talk over (I really don't like the sound of my own voice, it's not what I'm used to in my own head. Do any of you feel like this?). I've also learn how to set up and up load to a You tube channel and do mini videos to promote on Social Media. When I set out doing this I didn't realise what a steep learning curve it was going to be. But I am enjoying the process, it has it's own element of creativity. The downside is it's taking me so long, I'm not doing as much painting as I would like, but I'm sure I'll speed up the more I do. So bye for now, off to finish editing!

  2. Been busy the last couple of weeks, filming a painting process for my first You tube video. Then had to do a crash learning session on how to edit a video, add captions and sound. Also, doing a voice over (scary stuff - hate the sound of my own voice, it's weird how you sound so different in a recording from what you sound like to yourself). So having done all that, it went live on Saturday (29th July). Link to first video is:    https://youtu.be/gAHcYH2XWRs Now all I need is loads of people to find, watch and enjoy it! Already have the next couple planned, doing a squirrel (not surprising considering how many pictures are on my website) and then thinking of doing a fox. Currently, working on two fox paintings that should be up on my website in the next two or three weeks. Just added a few more prints (flower paintings) plus Crows flocking, that I seem to have been working on for ages. Right, now I need to get on with some actual painting.
